Here, you are welcomed to the new hotel as though you are family. Our lobbies are the beating heart of this hotel. Guests can relax and enjoy two beautiful spaces alongside fellow guests, and locals alike. We invite guests to find a cozy spot and stay a while. At Hotel Thaxter, guests feel immersed in Portsmouth and its culture; the lobby and the library are brimming with local art, photos and literature. We are big on supporting and celebrating the local community, working closely with artists and makers from The Seacoast to incorporate their touch in the design, artwork and products we offer. Our restaurant, guest rooms and public spaces are inspired and designed to feel cozy, relaxing and welcoming. We take pride in our surroundings, culture and history and weave it all into these spaces.
Our Rooms
15 rooms of all shapes and sizes to meet your travel needs. The grandeur of the historical church building is echoed throughout the curved staircase, crown molding and arched windows in various parts of the building. All guest rooms include smart TVs, comfy beds, soft linens, plush towels, contemporary bathrooms, your personal digital key and Celia Thaxter inspired décor.
